THE BIBLIOTECA ANGELICA II - Three noteworthy & talented artists which also participated with AI, is the sculpturer DAVIDE DORMINO, with his enormous carved timber skull, SIMONE VALSECCHI with his masks made from sneakers, depicting his feelings - representing his inner child & the charming photographer & video artist MUSTAFA SABBAGH with some of his pictures.

THE BIBLIOTECA ANGELICA  - was the wondrous space where AI - ARTISANAL INTELLIGENCE was held this year during ALTAROMA. This library was established circa 1604 & houses some books that date back to 800 AD. This years theme was 'Roma Caput Divina' - basically a 'wunderkammer' of artists in The Biblioteca. Our installation showed a slice of my little universe - hats, bags & perfumes. A huge thanks to AI, but especially the inspiring & marvelous Clara Tosi Pamphili.

ROMA II  - a Gala evening that we were prive to during ALTAROMA, began with a retrospective Haute Couture parade by the special guest, Jean Paul Gaultier shown in Santo Spirito in Sassia.

This followed with a private viewing in the magnificent GALLERIA BORGHESE. Here we were able to stare in wonder at sculptures such as 'Statue of David', 'Apollo & Daphne', by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, 'Pauline Bonaparte' (as Venus Victrix) by Antonio Canova, and the painting 'David with The Head of Goliath' by Caravaggio, to name just a few masterpieces ..... A glorious dinner followed in the gardens. What to say but "WOW" to a sublime evening!

MATISSE ANNIVERSARY - this year is the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Musee Matisse in Nice. So - "Nice is paying a long due tribute to Matisse, the artist who chose to live in Nice, the city where he had the 'revelation of light', for more than 30 years". One of the participating artists' is Lemesle & Roubaud, with their work tittled "Oisaux Coreaux Papier Pin Desseint, 2013" on display at MAMAC. If you look closely at the wallpaper motif you can see the outline of birds which is a tribute to one of the shapes that Matisse often used.

ROMA I - Just recently we were in Rome, participating with AI - ARTISANAL INTELLIGENCE during ALTAROMA. We stayed in the area of Trastevere & in the mornings we enjoyed a coffee whilst looking at 'Basilica di Santa Maria', arguably one of the oldest churches in Rome. The basic floor plan & wall structure of the church date back to the 340's, with the first sanctuary being built in 221. It is truly a magnificent church, well worth a visit.

ALTA ROMA JULY 2013 - we are proud to be invited by AI - ARTISANAL INTELLIGENCE which falls under Alta Roma (Haute Couture of Rome).

AI promotes fashion, art & accessories that are hand made, paying particular attention to the 'Made In Italy' factor. I will be displaying some of my hats, hand bags & body accoutrements during this period.
