TRADITION - While walking along Borgo San Frediano in Florence we came across this incredible studio & gallery called ROMANELLI.

"The Romanelli gallery was founded in 1860 by the famous sculpting family & is as before a forum between patrons & sculptor. The Romanelli gallery is unique in that it offers works on a commission basis. Folco & Raffaello Romanelli, father & son in the family are continuing the tradition, fulfilling commissions of actors, politicians & other prominent personalities".

Just the height of the ceiling & the enormity of the man on the horse at 6 metres, was inspiring enough - this is a gallery worth seeking out.

FLORENCE - We didn't have any time to explore the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, but here are a few images which were taken while we walked to dinner on the southern bank of The Arno.

FLORENCE - Whilst here 2 weeks ago, we ate outdoors on the fairy lit patio of this charming trattoria PIZZERIA NAPOLEONE in the Piazza del Carmine. It is well known for pizzas & its wonderful cave like interior. The restaurants' architecture brings to mind a rabbit warren with small & large rooms running off each other, ancient paintings hung on textured terra cotta walls fused with old & modern stone masonry, antler heads, antique furniture - a charming blend of everything - that fuses very well.
